Whether you’re trying to escape the rain and cold of the winter or the heat and humidity of the summer, there are so many things to do indoors with kids in Little Rock!
As a mom of three under 4, I know how important it is to find activities your kids will enjoy. And sometimes, you just need to get out of the house! Here are my top recommendations.
- Share the Love Kids Club-Conway. This is an absolute favorite of our family’s! A membership for 3 kids is $50/month, it pays for itself after two visits. With monthly membership options, as well as single day passes, you can’t go wrong. Located in downtown Conway, this indoor playground is a parent’s dream. Pretend kitchen, a play structure, a separate gated area for babies under 18 months, dress up, and more. My favorite feature? The cafe that is attached to it where you can order lunch or snacks (my kids love the child-friendly charcuterie board, on the menu as the “Cootie Board”) to keep the fun going. But the BEST part is the coffee bar. A real coffee bar, not a Keurig! I’m happy to report that my hot latte was made to perfection and only increased my love for this hidden gem.
- Museum of Discovery, Little Rock. Located in River Market District in downtown Little Rock, this science museum has something for kids of all ages! They also have a membership option and are part of the ACM Reciprocal Network. If you have a children’s museum membership anywhere else in the country, check this list to see if you’re eligible for half-off the admission fee!
- The Wonder Place, Little Rock. Another indoor playground aimed at kids 8 and younger, The Wonder Place has a play area, water table, theater for dramatic play, and more.
- Urban Air Trampoline Park, several locations. If you have older kids, or just want something more to get their energy out, Urban Air is sure to get your kids tired out!
- Sky Zone Trampoline Park, Little Rock.
- The Play Gym, Little Rock. Another indoor playground option that is wonderful for littles. Although it says great for children 0-8, I think it’s really wonderful for kids 5 and under. Not a big enough space to where you feel like you can’t keep track of your children, but big enough to entertain your kids for hours.
- Local Library. Don’t overlook your local library! With branches all over Little Rock, you’re sure to find plenty of activities. The Cabot library offers several programs for children ages 0-5 on Wednesdays, including storytime and play-doh playtime. Any library part of the Central Arkansas Library System also has a toy checkout program. With an amazing selection of toys like Melissa and Doug, costumes, games, outside toys, vehicles, block play, and more, all you need is a library card to be eligible. Pick out some new toys to play with, check-out books, and head back home for more rainy day fun! The Thompson Library offers lapsit storytime on Mondays for ages 0-24 months. Even if you can’t make an event, most of the libraries have a children’s play section. Go check them all out and discover a new favorite rainy day spot!
- Little Rock Air Force Base-if you’re a military family, the library offers a great selection of storytimes and activities for kids, as well as an indoor playground with a coffee shop. Win-win! The bowling alley also is a great activity. Check out their schedule for cosmic bowling nights as well.
- Big Rock Fun Park-similar to Dave and Buster’s this park offers both outdoor activities (like mini golf) and indoor arcade games. Fun for all ages!
- Arkansas Skatium-unique in that it’s a dual ice and roller skating rink, the Skatium offers themed night and public skating times.
- Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center-this nature center and natural history museum is just behind the Museum of Discovery. It boasts the second largest aquarium in Arkansas! Perfect for your wildlife loving kids.
- Professor Bowl, Little Rock-this bowling center has one of my favorite bowling features, the Kids Bowl Free! Our last base bowling center offered this program and I love seeing it at this alley (it is not military affiliated). Offered April 1st-December 31st, this program allows kids to bowl free. It does not include the shoe rental price or adult fee, but is still a great deal! Our kids were 4, 2, and 1 when we signed up and it was a perfect way to kill an hour before lunch.
- Chuck E. Cheese, North Little Rock. A classic establishment, Chuck E. Cheese still offers all the fun you remember as a child!
- Dave and Busters, Little Rock-great for teens, Dave and Buster’s a failproof activity for your older kids.
- Play Town, Benton. Another indoor playground option for kids ages 6 months-8 years old. They offer Happy Play Hours from Wednesday-Friday, 3-5pm where admission is just $5.
